This day long course consists of e-learning and assessment on underpinning Substation knowledge, e-learning and assessment in relation to the dangers of Impressed Voltage and a practical health and safety Substation assessment. Individuals must bring their own PPE for the practical assessment, details can be found here.
The individual must pass both knowledge and practical parts of the course in order to be authorised as a National Grid Person and be registered on the Energy & Utility Skills Register against the National Grid Electricity Contractors Scheme.
Individuals are required to confirm that general health and safety awareness has been successfully undertaken prior to course attendance. Some examples include SHEA Power and courses affiliated to the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS card) and the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB card).
